Tulane University Hertz Center

Cladding on the 43,000 square foot Tulane University Hertz Center features MDSIʼs Series 70 Pressure Equalized Hook and Pin Rainscreen System. The Series 70 System offers many advantages and it was selected by the design team for that reason. With a nearly infinite  number of ways to be adjusted, Series 70 can respond to a variety of field conditions, while still allowing for the design aesthetic the architect. Working closely with the architect, MDSI explored the ramifications of several different cladding sections that were considered and the Series 70 could accommodate them all. Zalmag was selected as the finish metal because of its corrosive resistant nature when exposed to coastal sea air and due to the ability to develop a natural zinc patina over time. The custom perforation pattern provides shading and transparency where required.
