Block 37 of 108 North State Street, located in the heart of the city of Chicago, is a 21st century urban retail, entertainment, and lifestyle destination. Metal Design Systems, Inc. fabricated 22,000 square feet of ACM and 18,000 square feet of stainless steel woven panel system for the project. Over 2,600 stainless steel panels on 750 custom designed base frame units create a dramatic woven pattern. There are 1,500 ACM panels on the exterior. Aluminum composite vertical accent panels trim out a glass curtain wall. Located on the roof penthouse is 5,000 square feet of foam core panels. Metal Design Systems collaborated with Gensler architects to achieve this state of the art exterior panel system from stainless steel MCM. The material received outstanding performance reviews necessary for the caustic environment at 108 State Street. This custom system provided a quick install with non-progressive panels and offers a maintenance free flawless appearance.
